This is the Feldhernnhalle. This was an infamous site for National Socialism. in 1923 Hitler and the NAZI's tried to seize government in Barvaria. The NAZIS marched from a Beer Hall and near this site the Barvarian Police tried to stop the demonstration. There was a riot and Hitler was arrested. After he seized power this spot was glorified into a state shrine. When you walked past you had to give the NAZI salute. At the rear of the building was an alley that avoiders used to not salute. It became known as Shirkers Alley and was a major site for resistance to NAZism.
